The new Yamaha FZ‑X Hybrid launched in India. The motorcycle is priced at ₹1,49,990 (ex-showroom Delhi) and adds to Yamaha’s hybrid range along with the FZ‑S Hybrid. This launch adds intelligent features and fuel-efficient tech to the value segment.

Hybrid System & Engine
The motorcycle employs a 149 cc air-cooled single‑cylinder engine that makes 12.4 PS and 13.3 Nm through a 5-speed transmission.

It features a Smart Motor Generator (SMG) and start-stop system. The combination provides quieter starts, enhanced low-speed torque, and better fuel efficiency.

Yamaha assures the hybrid setup is for fuel efficiency, and not to increase peak power.

Design & Display Changes
The new bike has a 4.2-inch TFT colour display with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation.

It is available in a new Matte Titan green paint with golden wheels.

Weighing 141 kg, it’s roughly 2 kg more than the standard FZ‑X.

Safety & Ride Quality
It features single-channel ABS, traction control, and front and rear disc brakes.

The frame features telescopic front forks and a 7-step adjustable rear mono-shock.

These add comfort to the ride and improve handling in urban environments.

Pricing & Market Position
The hybrid variant is ₹20,000 pricier than the standard FZ‑X and ₹5,000 more than the FZ‑S Hybrid.

Priced competitively, it appeals to those who desire hybrid efficiency without compromising retro looks.

Bookings have begun online and at Yamaha shops. Deliveries should be imminent.

Competitor Comparison
The model rivals bikes such as TVS Apache RTR 160, Bajaj Pulsar 150, and Hero Xtreme 160R. Yet, the FZ‑X Hybrid outsells with navigation and hybrid technology—uncommon at this price.

Things to consider

Comes only in one colour shade

Yamaha FZ‑X Hybrid comes with a combination of utility and contemporary usability. With its retro‑laid‑back body, hybrid efficiency, and intelligent display features, it defies convention in the 150cc class. It’s an intelligent choice for city commuters looking for style, tech, and cost savings all in one go.
