On Friday, July 12, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave out over 51,000 job letters. These were for new government jobs. This was part of the 16th Rozgar Mela. The event happened online. It connected 47 places across India. This also showed the strength of Skill India. It helps empower young people.
Why This Matters
PM Modi stressed that young people are essential for building India and turning it into a “Developed India” (Viksit Bharat). He truly believes that India’s youth are its greatest asset and its strongest guarantee for a bright future.
Government’s Job Promise
The Rozgar Mela initiative kicked off in October 2022, showing the government’s focus on creating jobs. So far, over 1 million (10 lakh) job letters have been given out through these events.
The new recruits will join many government areas, including:
- Railways
- Police and security forces (like CRPF and BSF)
- The Post Office
- Health and Family Welfare
- Financial Services
- Education
- Tax departments
- And many more.
Serving the Public First
The Prime Minister urged the new employees to always put “Citizen First.” He reminded them that even though they’ll work in different departments, their main goal is to serve the country.
This effort aims to quickly fill empty government positions so crucial services like schools, hospitals, and police stations run smoothly. It also strengthens India’s defense and security.
More Jobs for Everyone
PM Modi also discussed creating jobs in the private sector. He highlighted a new plan where the government will give ₹15,000 to young people getting their first private sector job—this is like helping with their first month’s pay! About ₹1 trillion (₹1 lakh crore) has been set aside for this plan, aiming to create around 35 million (3.5 crore) new jobs.
He also noted that other government programs, like building over 40 million (4 crore) homes for the poor and distributing 100 million (10 crore) new cooking gas connections, have generated many jobs. Plus, 15 million (1.5 crore) women have achieved “Lakhpati Didi” status, meaning they’ve earned over ₹1 lakh.
Learning and Growing
New employees also get access to Karmayogi Prarambh, an online learning platform with over 400 courses to help them boost their skills.
In essence, the 16th Rozgar Mela underlines the government’s ongoing commitment to empowering young people and integrating them into India’s growth story.
