The Kia Carens EV: Everything You Need to Know!

Get ready! The Kia Carens EV, an exciting new electric MPV, is coming to India soon. It promises to change the electric vehicle market. Expect space, great features, and an eco-friendly ride.

Launch and Price

Kia plans to launch the Carens EV on July 15, 2025. They will announce prices that same day.

We expect prices to range from around ₹16 lakh to ₹24.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Some reports suggest an entry-level price of ₹18 lakh, with top models reaching ₹30 lakh on-road.

Key Features and Specs

Powering Your Journey (Powertrain and Range)

The Carens EV will likely share its electric powertrain with the Hyundai Creta EV. It should offer two battery options: 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh. The larger 51.4 kWh battery will probably give you up to 490 km on a single charge. The smaller 42 kWh battery might offer about 390 km. The electric motor should produce around 171 hp and 255 Nm of torque.

A Familiar Yet Futuristic Look (Design)

The Carens EV will largely keep the design of its petrol version. Electric changes include new aero-efficient alloy wheels and a closed-off front grille with a charging flap. Expect redesigned bumpers too. It will feature three-pod LED headlamps with L-shaped LED DRLs, connected by an LED light bar. At the rear, you’ll see Star Map LED connected taillamps.

Step Inside the Future (Interior and Features)

The interior should resemble the petrol Carens, but with EV updates. Expect a redesigned, floating center console. This provides more storage space. It will likely have a dual-screen setup, with a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display. Some reports even suggest dual 12.3-inch screens.

Other expected features include:

  • Ventilated front seats
  • Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
  • 8-speaker Bose sound system
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • Dual-zone climate control with rear AC vents
  • Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems) suite
  • Connected car technology (Kia Connect)
  • Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2X) capabilities
  • Roof-mounted rear AC vents
  • Ambient lighting
  • Smart Dashcam with Dual Camera

Room for Everyone (Seating Configuration)

Kia has teased the Carens EV in a 7-seater configuration. Reports suggest it might only be available as a 7-seater model.
